Sumbe, Angola, 11 March – At least 853 of the 3,150 kilometres of the road network in Angola’s Kwanza Sul province have been refurbished whilst 1,548 kilometres have been levelled and are waiting to be asphalted,, the provincial directorate of the Angolan National Rodas Institute (INEA).

According to a statement from the provincial directorate, cited by Angolan news agency Angop, the refurbishment has improved trade and made links with the provinces of Bié, Huambo and Benguela safer and more comfortable.

The statement also said that the provincial delegation of INEA expects, by the end of this year, to refurbish 325 kilometres of roads, as part of the programme for recuperation of the national road network.
