Portuguese consortium expands and modernises port in Cape Verde

Praia, Cape Verde, 18 March – Portuguese construction Somague/MSF – Moniz da Maia, Serra e Fortunato is to carry out the expansion and modernisation of the port of Sal-Rei on the island of Boavista in Cape Verde, under the terms of a contract signed Wednesday in Praia.

According to the Ministry for Infrastructure, Transport and Telecommunications of Cape Verde, the project for expanding the port of Sal-Rei includes two docks.

The ministry said that a two hectare area would also be included to store containers.

The port of Sal-Rei will also have a goods warehouse and a maintenance and repair workshop, a car park, access and roads (internal and external), for both road and pedestrian traffic.

The work will be inspected by Portuguese consortium Pengest – Planeamento, Engenharia e Gestão/Proman – Centro de Estudos e Projectos. (macauhub)
