Luanda, Angola, 8 April – A commercial oil strike, at the Cinguvu-1 test well in Block 15/06 in the deep waters of the Lower Congo basin, was made by Angolan oil company Sonangol and ENI Angola, officials said in Luanda Wednesday.
According to a statement from Sonangol, the Cinguvu-1 well, located some 350 kilometres northwest of Luanda was drilled to a depth of 1,400 metres and during tests produced 6,400 barrels of oil per day.
In Block 15/06 ENI is the operator with a 35 percent stake, whilst Sonangol P&P has a 15 percent stake, SSI Fifteen Limited (20 percent), Total E&P (15 percent), Falcon Oil Holding Angola (5 percent), Petrobrás Internacional Braspetro BV (5 percent) and Statoil Angola Bloco 15/06 Award AS (5 percent).(macauhub)
