Lisbon, Portugal, 12 April – four years after acquiring aviation company White from TAP, Grupo Omni is set to expand charter flight business outside Portugal.
The Portuguese aviation group plans to launch a charter business in Brazil, with a new air carrier, Whitejets.
“We wanted to make use of our experience with White to open a business in Brazil,” said Miguel Costa, chairman of Omni cited by Negócios ONLINE.
The Omni group has presented a project to Portuguese airport management company ANA to build a maintenance hangar in Beja airport.
The aim is to extend the business to maintenance of large aircraft.
“The investment is 5.5 million euros and will create 28 jobs, at the beginning, which will increase to 60 over three years,” the chairman said. (macauhub)
