Panel factory for house construction in Angola launches in May

Benguela, Angola, 14 April – The factory to manufacture pre-fabricated panels for house building, which has been under construction in Lobito, in Angola’s Benguela province since 2009, is due to start operating in May the factory’s production director, Pedro Iniesta said Tuesday.

Speaking to Angolan news agency Angop, he said that some of the raw materials for manufacturing the cement and iron panels were already in the port of Lobito.

Construction of the factory, by a consortium of Angolan company Centrocer and Spain’s Nersa, began in October 2009.

The factory will have the capacity to produce enough panels to build 25 to 30 houses each month. (macauhub)
