Luanda, Angola, 13 May – The China Road and Bridge Corporation will work in the next 18 months to restore infrastructures in the city of M’banza-Kongo, the capital of northern Angola’s Zaire province, reports Angolan news agency Angop.
The project, estimated at US$57.491 million, envisages the construction of drinking water networks, sewers to drain rainwater, a wastewater treatment plant and an electric power plant.
Under the same contract with the Angolan government, the Chinese construction firm will rebuild and pave city streets and build stations for pumping sewage and managing solid waste.
Angolan Construction and Urbanism Minister José da Silva Ferreira visited M’banza-Kongo (the former Sao Salvador) on Wednesday to launch the construction project’s first stone. (macauhub)
