Macau, China, 25 May – Macau received 8.2 million visitors in the first four months of 2010, which was a rise of 12.4 percent against the same period of 2009, the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) said Monday in Macau.
DSEC also said that the number of visitors from China (4.3 million), Hong Kong (2.4 million) and from Taiwan (442,000) rose by 20 percent, 3.2 percent and 2.8 percent, respectively.
In the period 3.3 million visitors arrived in Macau by sea,(10.9 percent more year on year), 4.2 million by land (13.9 percent more) and by air 573,000 (9.8 percent more).
In April 2.6 million visitors entered Macau, which represented a rise of 13.1 percent against April 2009, most of which were from China (1 million) and Hong Kong (694,000). (macauhub)
