28 June 2010

Lisbon, Portugal, 28 Jun – The Portuguese cheese producing company Saloio plans to invest 15 million euros to build a factory in Angola’s Huila province, reports the Portuguese newspaper Diario Economico.

Saloio executive president Clara Guedes told the daily that the company (Portugal’s third biggest cheese producer, with brands such as Saloio and Palhais) closed the first quarter of the year with 8 percent growth in value and sales volume.

“These improved results confirm Saloio’s emphasis on reinforcing cheese production at the Torres Vedras factory” in Portugal, Guedes said.

The company has invested a million euros to build a new production line for four new cream cheeses, she added. (macauhub)
