Luanda, Angola, 22 July – Trade between Angola and Spain totalled 936 million euros in 2009, the economic and commercial attaché for the Spanish embassy in Angola told Angolan news agency Angop Wednesday.
Mariano Muela also said that last year 279 Spanish companies exported to Angola the equivalent of over 50,000 euros each and that the main products exported were industrial goods.
Muela said that there were currently 25 Angolan companies set up in partnerships between Angolans and Spanish in the health, agriculture, construction, manufacturing, real estate and retail sectors.
As well as those operating in the Angolan market in partnership, 22 proposals were put forward to Angola’s National Provate Investment Agency for investment in several business sectors, including agriculture.
“Spanish businesspeople are very interested in the Angolan market, and that is why three business missions visited Angola in 2009,” said Muela.
Spain is taking part in the current edition of the Luanda International Fair (Filda), taking place from 20 to 25 July, with 24 companies, two more than last year. (macauhub)
