Luanda, Angola, 4 Aug – Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) is set to open a representative office in Luanda after being granted authorisation by the National Bank of Angola.
Arnold Ekpe, chief executive of the Ecobank Group said that opening the office was in line with the bank’s plans to set itself up in southern Africa, in general, and particularly in Portuguese-speaking countries, where it is already present, namely in Cape Verde, Guinea Bissau and Sao Tome and Principe.
He also noted that the bank aimed to attract business from African partners that want to operate in Angola.
The ETI, which is based in Lome, Togo, operates in 30 African countries and has offices in France, via its subsidiary EBI S.A.,Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. (macauhub)
