US agency funds modernisation of power distribution in Luanda, Angola

Washington, United States, 4 Aug – The United States Trade and Investment Agency (USTDA) has provided US$1.7 million to fund a project to modernise electricity distribution in the city of Luanda and another to install a high voltage transmission line between the north and south of Angola.

The funding is outlined in an agreement signed in Washington by the USTDA and Angola’s Ministry for Energy and Water.

The project related to the cost of goods and services needed for the feasibility study on the modernisation of electricity distribution in Luanda is expected to cost US$855,000, whilst installing the high voltage transmission line is expected to cost US$837,000. (macauhub)
