Luanda, Angola, 6 Aug – Angola is self-sufficient in production of butane gas and has a total quota of some 600,000 tons per day, the national director for commercialisation of the Oil Ministry, Albino Ferreira said Wednesday in Luanda.
At the end of a seminar on regulation of gas activities, Ferreira said that of total gas production, two thirds was consumed in Angola and the remainder was exported.
The national commercialisation director also said that projects were underway to improve the storage and distribution network that had already started showing positive results such as the constant supply of gas and other oil derivatives such as diesel and gasoline.
In relation to the gas produced at Soyo (Zaire province) as part of the liquid natural gas (Angola LNG) project, it will essentially be for export.
For two days the seminar brought together in Luanda representatives of the provinces of Luanda, Bengo, Cabinda, Moxico, Malanje, Kwanza Norte, Uíge, Lunda Sul, Lunda Norte and Zaire to discuss existing regulation of gas activities in Angola. (macauhub)
