Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 11 Aug – The State of Rio de Janeiro is to be home to Brazil’s first factory to build vehicles powered by electricity after a deal was signed between Brazil’s CR Motors and Zongshen Industrie Group from the Chinese province of Chongqing.
The announcement was made Tuesday by CR Zongshen E-Power (CRZ-E) which will use the Kasinski brand to manufacture motorcycles and motorised bicycles.
According to the chairman of Kasinski, Claudio Rosa Junior, the investment will total 20 million reals and the factory will be located in Sapucaia, in the mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro.
The factory, which is expected to start operating in the first half of 2011, will be built on an area of 6,000 square metres and create 150 jobs. (macauhub)
