Angola’s EPAL to open new water distribution centres in Luanda

11 August 2010

Luanda, Angola, 11 Aug – Angolan water company Empresa Pública de Água de Luanda (EPAL) plans to open, in the next few days, three new drinking water distribution centres in several areas of the outskirts of Luanda, Angolan news agency Angop reported.

The chairman of the board of EPAL, Lionildo Ceitas, Tuesday told Angop that construction of the centres in the areas of Mulemba (Cazenga), Befinca-II (Samba) and Camama (Kilamba-Kiaxi) were in the final phases of construction.

The centres will benefit several areas of these three municipalities, as well as the neighbourhoods of Uíge and Petrangol, respectively in Cacuaco and Sambizanga.

Lionildo Ceitas said that over 400 kilometres of pipes had been laid in areas where the company did not yet operate, specifically in Benfica, where a domestic link up programme is scheduled, which will benefit some 35,000 consumers. (macauhub)
