24 August 2010

Macau, China, 24 Aug – The Macau Government’s Secretary of State for Social and Cultural Affairs, Cheong U, is due to visit Taiwan from 2 to 6 September in order to take part in “Macau Week” and will be the first member of the territory’s government to make an official visit to the island.

The spokesman for Cheong U’s office said that the working schedule for the secretary would focus on Taipei City and that the local delegation would mainly be made up of representatives from local tourism interested in “Macau Week,” which will promote Macau as a tourist destination.

The organisation of “Macau Week” was announced last April when the vice president of the Kuomintang, the ruling party in Taiwan, visited Macau to meet with its chief executive, Chui Sai On, and take part in a forum. (macauhub)
