Bissau, Guinea Bissau, 1 Sept – China has gifted Guinea Bissau’s Armed Forces with construction equipment worth an estimated US$1.2 million, a source from Guinea Bissau’s Defence Ministry said Tuesday in Bissau.

According to the source, the equipment, which was requested by the Bissau government, was delivered by the Chinese ambassador to Guinea Bissau, Yan Ban Gua, to the Guinean Defence Minister, Aristides Ocante da Silva.

The equipment includes tractors, diggers, cylinders and office equipment.

Last week China handed over to the Guinea Bissau government a hospital that was built from scratch, with 200 beds. (macauhub)
