Maputo, Mozambique, 15 Sept – The governments of the districts of Nampula and Muecate, in Mozambique’s Nampula province, are seeking funding of 20 million meticals to build a bridge over the Monapo River, Mozambican newspaper Notícias reported.
The paper said that that amount was beyond the financial capacity of the two districts, leading the administrative authorities to delay the project, which had been planned for over 10 years.
As there is no bridge the people that need to travel between the two districts have to make a journey of over 60 kilometres, as compared to just over 30 if the bridge was built. (macauhub)
