Angolan cable TV company TVCabo Angola starts operating in Benguela and Lobito

Luanda, Angola, 30 Sept – Angolan cable television company, TVCabo Angola Wednesday started distributing its cable television and Internet service in Benguela and Lobito, an operation involving investment of US$12.8 million the company said.

In a statement, the company, which is owned by Angolan Telecom and Portuguese group Visabeira, noted that the expansion of its network was continuing in the Luanda area, where it was growing as the city grows and basic infrastructures are created.

The main basis for the network is fibre optics, which is the most advanced means of transmission for new generation services such as high definition television, three-dimensional television and interactivity, the statement said.

TVCabo has built a technical hub in the Catumbela industrial area, a few kilometres from Benguela, in order to support the expansion of its network, which will be the “nerve centre” of the facility in the two cities.

Since it started operating in 2005, TVCabo Angola has been expanding its network, and so far has invested over US$42 million. (macauhub)
