Maputo, Mozambique, 4 Oct – Mozambican flagship airline Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM), plans to launch its own flights between Maputo and Lisbon in April, 2011, Mozambican newspaper Notícias reported, cited the company’s representative for Europe, Cândido Munguambe.
The link between the two capitals is currently provided by a code share agreement with TAP – Air Portugal, and Lam merely sells tickets for the four weekly flights carried out by the Portuguese airline.
During a training event for travel agents in a Lisbon hotel, Munguambe said that Lam would provide two flights per week between Maputo and Lisbon using a Boeing B767-300 aircraft.
In the training event organised by terraÁfrica in partnership with its Mozambican partner, Muhimbi África Turismo, an 11-night tour of Mozambique was presented, travelling from Maputo to Mozambique Island, with possible extensions. (macauhub)
