Mozambique presents its potential to Swedish businesspeople

Maputo, Mozambique, 13 Oct – Mozambique Tuesday presented its potential to the Swedish businesspeople that are part of a business mission made up of representatives from eight Swedish companies with interests in several areas such as telecommunications, forestry and energy, amongst others.

Odete Simião, director of business development services a Mozambique’s Centre for Investment Promotion (CPI), invited the businesspeople to increase their investments in the country.

Speaking to Macauhub in Maputo, Simião said that Sweden had just five investment projects in Mozambique, covering the areas of agriculture, silviculture and services.

At a meeting held at the Swedish Embassy in Maputo, Simião said that Mozambique was a good destination for investments in that it was one of the most stable countries on the continent and in the world and it had posted economic growth of approximately 8 percent per year.

On Monday the Swedish businesspeople visited economic projects located at the Beluluane industrial park in Boane district, which is the location of Mozal, an aluminium foundry representing an investment of over US$2 billion.

On Tuesday there was a business contact meeting at which Mozambican private and public companies presented what they could offer to the Swedish businesspeople. (macauhub)
