Luanda, Angola, 19 Oct – The main novelty introduced at the 2011 Constroi Angola fair will be a prize awarded to the best civil engineering project in the country, the president of one of the organisers told Angolan news agency Angop.
Bruno Albernaz of Arena Direct said the prize was in step with the new name for the event, as the Constroi Angola International Construction Materials and Public Works Fair will henceforth be known as Projekta by Constroi Angola.
Albernaz said the change was one of the innovations of Projekta by Constroi Angola, which will also showcase urban and landscape projects, planning firms and civil construction technologies.
“The aim is to gather together all the civil construction modes, present solutions for different project phases and encourage on-site scientific studies, instead of limiting the activity to construction materials,” he explained.
The decision is also meant to promote the country’s full potential in construction materials and to publicise the government’s efforts to develop the country and the sector, besides improving the lives of the population, he added.
Constroi Angola is jointly organised by the Luanda International Fair (FIL) and Arena Direct. This year it counted the participation of 315 Angolan and foreign exhibitors. (macauhub)
