Brazilian President to visit anti-viral medication factory in Mozambique

Maputo, Mozambique, 9 Nov – The Brazilian President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who is in Mozambique, is due Wednesday to visit the facilities of the future anti-viral medication factory.

The factory is a project that is being carried out with the financial aid of and technology transfer from the Brazilian government and supervision of Fiocruz, a health research and drug production facility.

Mozambique and Brazil agreed to build the drugs factory, which will be located in Matola, on the outskirts of Maputo, after Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva made the offer on an official visit to Mozambique in 2004.

Lula da Silva’s schedule also includes opening three open university hubs, one in Maputo, another in Beira and a final one in Lichinga, as well as a meeting with Brazilian businesspeople working in Mozambique. (macauhub)
