Pemba, Mozambique to host conference on tourism investment

Maputo, Mozambique, 10 Nov – A conference on tourism investment is due to take place from 17 to 19 November in Pemba, capital of Cabo Delgado province, northern Mozambique, a source from the National Tourism Institute (Inatur) told Macauhub.

Under the theme of “Development of areas of tourist interest (ZIT),” the conference aims to find ways of implementing tourism projects integrated within those areas and boost the relationship of the public and private sectors with local communities to set up tourist facilities and equipment.

According to the source, investing in integrated projects that can attract quality and mass tourism at the same time will significantly improve tourism revenues in Mozambique allowing the sector, in the long term, to increase its contribution to the economy and gross domestic product (GDP).

The Pemba conference is aimed at national and foreign investors, consultants, donors, investment facilitation agencies, development partners and banks and will be attended by over 30 businesspeople with commercial interests in South Africa. (macauhub)
