Zhuhai, China, 11 Nov – The Chinese authorities next week plan to present a full-scale model of the first Chinese commercial aircraft with capacity for 150 passengers, the event’s organisers said.
The exhibition will exhibit a model of the fuselage of the C919 passenger aircraft that China is preparing to launch onto the market.
Zhou Liwei, the managing director of the exposition, said that the interior of the model fuselage had been made in the United Kingdom and was now on its way to China.
China plans to sign contracts with Chinese and foreign airlines in order to launch the C919 commercially.
The exhibition, with an area of 23,000 square metres, will present 70 aircraft and 600 stands linked to the aeronautical industry.
As well as civilian aircraft, the exhibition, which is due to open on 16 November, will also present military helicopters and the FC-1 fighter developed jointly by China and Pakistan, a country which has ordered 150 of the aircraft.
The FC-1 (Fighter China) was exhibited in July at the Farnborough Air Festival in England.
The exhibition’s organisers expect deals of some US$4 billion during the event. (macauhub)
