International partnership launches digital inclusion project in Tete, Mozambique

Maputo, Mozambique, 12 Nov – The “Caia na rede” (Fall into the net) digital inclusion programme was launched a few days ago in Tete province, northern Mozambique, the Mozambican press reported.

Sponsored by a partnership between Vale, Odebrecht and Microsoft Brasil together with TAP – Air Portugal and US company Hewlett-Packard, the project aims to provide digital environments in classrooms, community centres and/or IT laboratories, thus contributing to the technological development of the communities.

By the end of 2011, the aim is for this project to benefit 1,500 people, and three It posts have already been set up in Moatize, one of which is located next to the coal mining project of Brazilian company Vale. (macauhub)
