Guinea Bissau to open honorary consulate in Macau

Macau, China, 13 Nov – Guiena Bissau is due Monday in Macau to open its honorary consulate, in a ceremony that will be presided over by Guinean prime minister, Carlos Gomes Júnior, the nominated consul João Ló said Saturday in Macau.

The honorary consul of Guinea Bissau is a local Macau businessman who speaks Portuguese, Chinese and English and has several business, both locally and in Guinea Bissau.

Ló was nominated as consul for Guinea Bissau in 2008, but only now have conditions been created for an honorary consulate to be opened, he said speaking to Portuguese news agency Lusa.

As well as Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde also has an honorary consulate in Macau and Portugal and Angola each have a consulate-general there. (macauhub)
