Portuguese-Angolan partnership builds construction materials factory in Lubango, Angola

Lubango, Angola, 17 Nov – Angolan group Socolil, in partnership with Portuguese group Irmãos Martins, has invested US$34 million in the construction of a factory to produce metallic structures, ribbed sheets, glass and aluminium, Pedro Martins said Tuesday in Lubango.

Speaking to Angolan news agency Angop about the supply of construction materials on the Angolan market, Martins said that the factory would be working at full capacity in January, 2011.

He also said that the factory would be launched with four production lines and would later start producing metallic structures totalling 4 million square metres per year.

“The company will produce metallic structures for construction of industrial units, thermal panels (product use for covering industrial units, lining pavilions and refrigeration units), glass and aluminium,” he said. (macauhub)
