Sao Paulo, Brazil, 9 Dec – Kasinski, the motorcycle brand of China’s CR Zongshen in Brazil, plans produce more units in Brazil than Japan’s Yamaha, Rogério Scialo, the company’s sales and marketing director said in Sao Paulo.

Currently, the company is in sixth place out of all the brands available in Brazil, and is responsible for 1.21 percent of total production and 1.1 percent of sales.

The strategy that was announced includes construction of a factory in Rio de Janeiro and expansion of the unit in Manaus, investments in which, along with promotional campaigns totalled 250 million reals, for both production and sales to increase five-fold by the end of 2013.

With these investment, Scialo said, CR Zongshen will produce up to 250,000 units in Brazil each year.

The increase in production capacity also aims to transform Brazil into a hub for exporting motorcycles to the United States and to Latin America, thus transferring that responsibility from the company’s headquarters, in China, to the local operation.

The company is also building an electrical vehicle factory in Rio de Janeiro, at which it will produce a scooter, which is already available for sale, as well as high performance models. (macauhub)
