Angola’s Sonangol signs oil deal with Cuba’s Comercial Cupet

Luanda, Angola, 21 Dec – Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção has signed a production sharing contract with Cuba’s Comercial Cupet to operate two oil blocks in the deep waters off Cuba, the Angolan state company said in a statement Friday in Luanda.

Cited by Angolan news agency Angop, the statement said that the contract was signed in Havana, on 8 December, by Mateus de Brito, a Sonangol EP board member representing Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção, and by Rafael Luís Arias Batista, vice president and managing director of Comercial Cupet.

The ceremony to sign the agreement was attended by the chairman of the board of Sonangol E.P, Manuel Vicente, and other managers from the Angolan oil company, as well as several members of the Cuban government. (macauhub)
