Over 1,000 kilometres of roads rebuilt in Angola in 2010

Luanda, Angola, 29 Dec – Over 1,000 kilometres of road sand 13 small, medium-sized and large bridges were opened in Angola in 2010 as part of the programme to rebuild road infrastructure in Angola, the minister for Urbanism and Construction said in Luanda.

Fernando Fonseca said that that figure raised the number of kilometres of rebuilt roads to 6,200 across Angola since the end of the civil war in 2002 and noted the bridge over the river Kwanza (Malanje), that links the provinces of Malanje, Bié and Kwanza Sul.

He also said that a further 6,800 kilometres of roads, as well as 476 bridges were currently being repaired as part of the same programme to rebuild road infrastructures. (macauhub)
