East Timor to import chicken meat from Brazil

Sao Paulo, Brazil, 3 Jan – East Timor is due to start importing chicken meat from Brazil, the Brazilian Aviculture Union (Ubabef) said in a statement issued in Sao Paulo.

The opening up of the market in East Timor, which has a population of just over 1 million people, is added to other markets being conquered by Brazil in 2010, with the start of unprocessed chicken meat from Brazil to Uruguay, Turkey, the Ivory Coast and St. Vincent and the Grenadines of processed chicken meat to Algeria and Chile.

The statement from Ubabef also said that chicken meat exports to East Timor had been waiting for conclusion of the registration process with the Timorese sanitary authorities, “which has now happened.” (macauhub)
