Santiago, Cape Verde, 3 Jan – The Kriola catamaran, the first of two fast boats of the Cabo Verde Fast Ferry (CVFF) company built by Damen Shipyards Singapore and earmarked for inter-island journeys, is due to arrive in Santiago Monday.
The Kriola, with capacity for 158 passengers, 20 cars and three trucks, will operate between Praia, Fogo, Brava and Maio.
The vessels, which is 43 metres long, reaches speeds of up to 20 knots per hours.
Between April and May another catamaran called the Liberdadi is due to arrive and will link the archipelago’s windward islands.
The arrival of the Kriola in Cape Verde was delayed for several days as the ship met with bad weather between Singapore and Madagascar. (macauhub)
