Macau, China, 4 Jan – Gross revenues from casino gambling activities in Macau in 2010 totalled 188.343 billion patacas (US$23.542 billion), representing a year on year rise of 57.8 percent, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (GICB) said.
Also according to GICB, over the 12 months of 2010 growth rates of gross revenues consistently stood at over 50 percent, with a high of 67.5 percent in July and a low of 57.4 percent in May.
In December gross gaming and gambling revenues reached a monthly high for the year of 18.883 billion patacas (US$2.36 billion), a rise of 66.4 percent against the same month of 2009.
At the end of September 2010, there were 33 casinos in Macau, 20 of which were owned by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, three by Venetian Macau, five by Galaxy Casino, three by Melco/PBL Jogos (Macau) and one each by Wynn Resorts and MGM Grand Paradise. (macauhub)
