Angolan population census scheduled for 2013

Malanje, Angola, 6 Jan – The general census of the Angolan population is due to take place in 2013, the minister for Land Management, Bornito de Sousa said Tuesday in Malanje.

During the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Day of Martyrs of the Colonial Repression, on 4 January, the minister said that the electoral rolls would be updated, taking into consideration the next elections in 2012.

Bornito de Sousa also said that this year all Angolan citizens would have to ensure that they were totally registered, and for that purpose would need to go to the registration teams during the updating period.

The population census is defined as a number of operation to gather, group together and publicise demographic, economic and social data relating to a specific moment of the inhabitants of a country. (macauhub)
