Around US$90 million invested in hotels in Angola’s Huila province

Lubango, Angola, 19 Jan – Over US$89 million were invested in 2010 in the construction of hotels in the city of Lubango, in Angola’s Huila province Angolan news agency Angop reported.

Citing the quarterly report from the Hotel and Tourism Department, the news agency said that the funding had been applied to building five hotels – Chic-Chic, VIP, Rodinea, Gouduane and Admar – and the refurbishment of the Primor, Palanca Negra and Império hotels.

As well as these projects, the three-star Mukanka hotel is currently under construction at the local airport, as part of the central government’s Public Investment Programme.

The hotel network in Huila province also includes the following hotels: Serra da Chela (four stars), Novo Hotel (three stars), Grande Hotel da Huíla (three stars), Lubango (two stars), Hotel Amigo (two stars), Palanca Negra (two stars) and Karimbo (one star).

The hotel network also includes 25 inns, 61 hostelries, 14 tourist villages, 74 restaurants and 433 other similar facilities. (macauhub)
