Praia, Cape Verde, 1 Feb – Cape Verde is to take part in this year’s Boston Globe Travel Show, due to be held from 11 to 13 February, the director of Cabo Verde Investimentos, Eileen Barbosa said, cited by the Cape Verdean press.
Cape Verde will be represented at the fair by Cabo Verde Investimentos and airline, Transportes Aéreos de Cabo Verde (TACV), with the aim of promoting the country to US citizens and third and fourth generation Cape Verdeans living in the United States.
Barbosa also said that the delegation would take advantage of its stay in the US to meet with the organisers of the Hello Cabo Verde fair, which is due to take place in New Bedford, Massachusetts at the end of May, and which proposes to provide information about the archipelago to Americans and the many generations of Cape Verdeans living in the area.
She also said that the targets for 2011 outlined by Cabo Verde Investimentos included consolidating the country in its more traditional markets, namely Portugal and Italy, and to continue to increase interest in the United Kingdom and Germany, specifically by taking part in fairs. (macauhub)
