Macau’s gross casino gaming revenues total US$2.321 billion in January

Macau, China, 2 Feb – Gross revenues from casino gambling activities in Macau posted growth of 33.2 percent year on year in January to 18.571 billion patacas (US$2.321 billion), the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (GICB) said.

In 2010, gross revenues from gambling rose to 188.343 billion patacas (US$23.542 billion), with a rise of 57.8 percent year on year, and growth rates for gross revenues remained at above 50 percent throughout the year, with a high of 67.5 percent in July and a minimum of 57.4 percent in May.

At the end of 2010, there were 33 casinos in Macau, 20 of which were owned by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, three by Venetian Macau, five by Galaxy Casino, three by Melco/PBL Jogos (Macau) and one each by Wynn Resorts and MGM Grand Paradise. (macauhub)
