Mozambican company starts exporting chilli peppers to the Netherlands

Rotterdam, Netherlands, 2 Feb – Companhia do Vanduzi, of the Mozfoods – Alimentos de Moçambique group, has started exporting two varieties of chilli peppers to the Netherlands, according to the specialist press.

The company, which is known for its quality agricultural products that are already available in the United Kingdom, will put the two varieties of chilli pepper on the Netherlands market three times a week throughout the year.

Companhia de Vanduzi, an agri-industrial unit in Manica province, in 2008 posted turnover of over US$6.4 million (171 million meticals), with exports to several African and European countries, notably South Africa and the United Kingdom.

In that year, the company exported over 1,500 tons of agricultural products, mostly baby corn, mainly to the UK, chilli peppers, green beans, squash, peas and watermelon. (macauhub)
