Portuguese minister visits Mozambique with large business delegation

Lisbon, Portugal, 11 Feb – Portugal’s Public Works minister, António Mendonça, is due Thursday to start an official visit to Mozambique, accompanied by a large business delegation, particularly from the construction and public works sector.

During this official visit, which will run until next Tuesday there will be a seminar in Maputo on infrastructure investment opportunities for Portuguese companies in the Mozambican market, organised by The Mozambican Centre for Investment Promotion (CPI).

The seminar will be attended by representatives of three part Portuguese-owned Mozambican banks – Millennium bim (Millenium bcp), BCI (Banco BPI and Caixa Geral de Depósitos) and Moza Banco (of Banco Espírito Santo).

The delegation will also visit projects implemented by the Visabeira group in Mozambique and the facilities of concession holder Estradas do Zambeze (owned by Portuguese companies Ascendi, Soares da Costa and Infra).

A cooperation protocol for the railways sector is also due to be signed during the visit. (macauhub)
