Angolan government builds 249,000 houses

Cuito, Angola, 14 Feb – The Angolan government has so far built 249,000 houses as part of the national housing programme, António Pereira Gomeira, advisor to the Angolan Minister for Urbanism and Construction said in Cuito, Bié province.

Speaking to Angolan news agency Angop, at the ceremony to launch a project to build three and four bedroom apartments, presided over by the Minister for State and of the Civil House, Carlos Maria Feijó, António Gomeira said that the apartments had been built after the 2008 legislative elections.

The advisor also said that the government would soon build houses for 1.5 million people, “mainly those who are having difficulty finding homes.”

Starting this year, 110,000 houses will be built across all the country’s provinces. (macauhub)
