Maputo, Mozambique, 18 Feb – The Mozambican government project “Made in Mozambique” is set to have a trade directory and a website in Portuguese and English, under the terms of a memorandum of understanding signed Thursday in Maputo.
Signed by the Ministry for Industry and Trade, represented by the Directorate for Promotion of National Products and C and E – Comunicação e Edições, Limitada, a Mozambique-based media company, the directory is due to be launched next June, and will be a reference point for those looking for or offering Mozambican products and services inside and outside the country.
Jaime Nicolls, director for Promotion of National Products at the Ministry for Industry and Trade said that the aim was to collate and disseminate the available resources at companies certified with the “Made in Mozambique” seal, by producing and publishing a national tool including details of the skills of each entity.
“We want the directory to be the gateway for new investments and, at the same time, the starting point for new business opportunities and for partnerships to boost the Mozambican business sector. Above all the aim is for the directory to be the showcase for what is available on the Mozambican market, and will be an gateway to new markets,” said Nicolls, cited by Mozambican newspaper Notícias.
Since it was created the “Made in Mozambique” quality mark has been granted to 241 companies and institutions. (macauhub)
