7 March 2011

Maputo, Mozambique, 7 March – Comair, a subsidiary of British Airways for southern Africa, last week announced it planned to launch new flights linking South Africa to the Mozambican capital, Maputo.

In South Africa, Comair operates from a base in Lanseria Airport, located between the cities of Johannesburg and Pretoria, some 40 kilometres from Johannesburg’s Oliver Tambo International Airport.

On these new routes, Comair will offer daily return flights running from Monday to Friday and two flights on some days, according to South African press reports, which noted the flights would begin on 3 May.

For these flights Comair has entered into a partnership with Solenta Aviation, hiring a turbo-prop ATR72-212 aircraft with capacity for 66 passengers to operate on the new routes. (macauhub)
