Director of Angola’s Customs Service gives assurances of speedier customs processing

Lubango, Angola, 10 March – Angola’s national customs director, said in the city of Lubango, capital of Huíla province, that all provincial customs delegations had the technical capabilities to process goods more quickly.

Speaking at a meeting with importers, exporters and customs dispatchers from the provinces of Huíla, Namibe, Cunene and Kuando Kubango, where he listened to their concerns, Sílvio Burity said that everything possible had been done to significantly reduce, the time it took to process goods.

Cited by Angolan news agency Angop, the national director of customs, said that the fees charged at the port of Namibe required a review, as they were four times higher than those charged in neighbouring Namibia.

The three-day working visit to Huíla province by the national customs director is due to include the inauguration, on Thursday, of the Lubango customs directorate, set up near Mukanka International Airport. (macauhub)
