Praia, Cape Verde, 14 March – The US city of New Bedford, in Massachusetts, will be the venue for an exhibition on Business and Tourism Opportunities in Cape Verde, from 27 to 29 May, Cape Verdean news agency Inforpress reported.

The event called, “Hello Cabo Verde EXPO – 2011” is a venture set up by a group of Cape Verdean emigrants to the United States, with the aim of bringing together operators from the public and private sectors, artists, and the media, in order to promote Cape Verde’s islands as a tourist destination to United States residents.

On a local level, the exhibition is sponsored by New Bedford city hall, the Cape Verdean embassy in the United States, and the Cape Verde consulate in Boston.

During the three days f the event, as well as exhibitions of products and services meetings on tourism and investment, art exhibitions, music shows and visits to the Ernestina ship and the Whaling Museum will take place. (macauhub)
