Maputo, Mozambique, 22 March – The district of Mueda, in Mozambique’s Cabo Delgado province in the far north of the country, has been linked up to the national power grid, Mozambican state electricity company Electricidade de Moçambique (EdM) said Monday in a statement published in Maputo.
The district was linked up on 10 March and the move benefits some 1,700 consumers. Work to link the district to the national grid cost around US$8 million, funded by the Islamic Development Bank.
The work, which began in July 2009, was carried out by Electrotec. (macauhub)
