Brazilian exports to Portugal rise 42.8 percent in first quarter of 2011

Brasilia, Brazil, 13 April – In the first quarter of 2011 Brazil’s exports to Portugal increased by 42.8 percent year on year, reaching US$434.7 million, according to figures from Brazil’s Development, Industry and Foreign Trade Ministry.

In March Brazil’s exports to Portugal totalled US$114 million, which represented a rise of 12 percent against the previous month, but was less than the US$119 million exported in March, 2010.

Portugal, in its turn, in the first three months of this year exported US$198.2 million in goods to Brazil, which was 44.7 percent more than in the same period of 2010.

In March 2011 Portugal exported product worth US$97 million to Brazil, which was a rise of 68 percent against the same month of 2010 according to Ministry figures. (macauhub)
