Beijing, China, 14 April – The Chinese government recently announced that it would import 200,000 tons of frozen pork meat from Brazilian companies over the next five years.
This will be the first time that Brazil will be exporting pork to the Chinese market and it will do so via three companies located in the south and southeast of Brazil.
The Chinese market consumes 50 percent of the pork produced around the world, and totals 110 million tons.
China is also the biggest producer and consumer of pork in the world. Brazil is the world’s fourth-largest pork exporter and mainly sends it exports to the European Union and Russia. (macauhub)
