18 April 2011

Lisbon, Portugal, 18 April – Portuguese media group Impresa and Angolan asset management company Finicapital have signed a contract to establish a media group in Angola, the Portuguese group said in a statement issued in Lisbon Friday.

In a statement filed with Portuguese stock market regulator, CMVM, Impresa said that the partnership involved creating Media Rumo, an Angolan company, which will be 70 percent owned by Finicapital and 30 percent by Impresa.

The first venture by the new group will be to launch a financial magazine entitled, “Rumo,” on account of “Angola’s strong economic growth, based on the oil industry and the growing boost to diversification of its production and services sectors, particularly energy, agriculture, and development of infrastructures, which make the country one of Africa’s emerging economies.”

The statement said that Media Rumo wants to establish itself as a media project with access to all platforms, similarly to Impresa’s strategy in Portugal. (macauhub)
