Macau, Zhuhai and Portugal businesspeople meet in Lisbon seeking business deals

Lisbon, Portugal, 19 May – Businesspeople from Macau, Zhuhai and Portugal are due to meet in Lisbon Friday at an economic seminar organised by trade and investment institutes, AICEP Portugal Global, the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute and the Zhuhai Department for Investment Promotion.

According to AICEP Portugal Global, “the meeting is aimed at companies interested in developing business in Macau and the adjacent region of Zhuhai, notably in the health, renewable energy, cork, construction and tourism sectors.”

Macau will be represented at the meeting by the Economy and –finance Secretary, Francis Tam and by IPIM chairman, Jackson Chan, whilst Zhuhai will be represented by a business mission led by Gan Lin, secretary of the municipal Communist Party commission.

The Zhuhai trade delegation includes companies such as Gree Electric Appliances, Inc., Zhuhai Duty Free Enterprises Group, Zhuhai Water Group Co., Ltd, Livzon Pharmaceutical Group Inc., Yintong Group, Elec-Tech International Co., Eastcompeace Smart Card Co., Ninestar Image Int’l. Ltd and Zhuhai Mingshi Ceramics Valve Co.

The Macau government considers the visit to Lisbon to be part of the agreement signed in March by Guangdong and Macau and the joint search for new business opportunities making use of existing synergies for activities in Portuguese-speaking countries. (macauhub)
