Mozambique’s cooperation partners fund modernisation of Tributary Authority

7 June 2011

Maputo, Mozambique, 7 June – A 2011 funding agreement worth US$5.8 million for the modernisation of the information and communication technology (ICT) used by the Mozambican Tributary Authority was signed Monday in Maputo by a group of five European countries and the Finance Ministry.

The document that was signed by the Finance Ministry and by Germany, Belgium, Norway, the United Kingdom and Switzerland delays, for another year, the agreement that was originally signed for the 2007 to 2010 period.

The funding will make it possible to continue with the project to modernise the Tributary Authority’s ICT system in order to improve revenue collection.

The project also includes the creation of a taxpayers’ Internet portal and a website. (macauhub)
